| SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—February 7, 2006—Edustructures, the leading provider of Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF®) solutions for the K–12 education market, today announced the availability of its SIFWorks Directory Manager, a robust SIF agent and provisioning application for Microsoft Active Directory. The Edustructures SIFWorks Directory Manager enables Active Directory and other directory services to exchange student and staff records with any SIF compliant system and will also securely publish authentication objects out to other applications. This automated sharing of data frees–up staff time and insures both accuracy and security in managing directory changes across a school district. | | |
| SIFWorks Directory Manager ships with a collection of templates for customization of directory structures. The built–in field expression editor allows customization of usernames, passwords and virtually any other user account field in Active Directory. Additionally, the agent can create a new Active Directory tree structure based on the data published by the Student Information System. Because it uses the highest levels of SIF–defined security and features a secure management interface, SIFWorks Directory Manager will maintain network infrastructure security, verifying all incoming account data using X.509 certificate verification and 128–bit encryption. | | |
