Michael K.(Griz) Robinson Joins Company as Director of Software Development; Andrew Elmhorst promoted to Chief Architect for SIFWorks® Implementation Platform Product Suite

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—March 19, 2007— the leading provider of Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF®) solutions for the pK–12 education market, announced today that Michael (Griz) Robinson has joined the company as director of software development. Robinson is responsible for directing the next phase of Service–Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution development for Edustructures. Additionally, Andrew Elmhorst has been promoted to the position of Chief Architect, responsible for the design and architecture of the entire SIFWorks® product suite, including the company's flagship product, the SIFWorks ZIS. The leadership provided by Robinson and Elmhorst positions Edustructures to more effectively deliver solutions that meet the growing interoperability demands of education.

Robinson joins Edustructures with an extensive history in delivering best–in–class solutions for education, most recently as director of software engineering for Pearson Digital Learning (PDL), a leader in proven, comprehensive technologies for pK–12 education. At PDL, Robinson was responsible for all technical development of the company's award–winning ELLIS English language learning software. Prior to PDL, Robinson served as the chief technology officer for Western Governor's University (WGU), developing, managing and maintaining the University's distance learning architecture and systems.
Previously, Robinson served IBM for eight years managing software development teams at the company's Provo, Utah development lab. Robinson received his BS in Computer Science from the University of Utah and is a member of IEEE and ACM.

Elmhorst has worked as a senior software engineer for Edustructures since 2004, leading the development and architecture of the company's SIFWorks Agent Development Kit, the SIF Agent for Destiny, SIFWorks Directory Manager as well as the architecture of the company's .NET–based solutions. Considered one of the industry's leading SIF developers, Elmhorst currently serves as the co–lead of the Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA) technical board, which drives the technical development of the SIF specification. Additionally, Elmhorst has assisted the British Educational Communications and Technology Authority (BECTA) with the design of the United Kingdom SIF data model and the UK's first proof of concept SIF implementation for the Birmingham Local Agency.
