Edustructures SIFWorks® Enterprise ZIS to be Distributed by Novell
Multi-Platform Zone Integration Server Powers Secure, Seamless Interaction and Standards-based Data Sharing with Novell's Secure Identity Management Solution
|
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - August 4, 2004 - Edustructures today announced the availability
of the SIFWorks® Enterprise ZIS for Novell Nsure Identity Manager customers who
purchase through the Novell School License Agreement, making it easy for school
districts, schools and states to acquire critical infrastructure components for the
Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) initiative.
| | |
|
With the SIFWorks ZIS, schools, districts, and states can effectively and securely
share information across diverse software programs. Identity management and integration
via SIFWorks is already providing benefits for tens of thousands of students. Combining
SIFWorks technology and Novell solutions means that instead of spending time and money
on manual identity management, schools can put more time and resources into the
classroom.
| | |
|
Novell Nsure Identity Manager automates the creation of user accounts on the network
as well as on the other applications used by students and staff. Now students start
school with all of their accounts automatically set up through the information
distributed by the SIFWorks Zone Integration Server. The SIFWorks ZIS runs on both
the Novell NetWare and SUSE Linux platforms giving customers the flexibility to
tailor their own solutions.

|
David Brower, manager of Novell Academic Sales, said "We see SIFWorks as key to
extending identity management and data management solutions to a variety of SIF-enabled
applications. Not only does this enable schools to meet 'No Child Left Behind'
requirements, but it saves time and money for schools as they implement new
technology."
| | |
|
"We're proud to partner with Novell to make SIFWorks, and SIF, an easy choice for
educators," said Steve Curtis, Chief Operating Officer of Edustructures. "Solutions
from Edustructures and Novell are already saving time and money for districts
across the nation and we look forward to many more adopting SIFWorks-based
solutions in the near future."
