SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—June 4, 2007—Edustructures, the leading provider of Schools Interoperability Framework(SIF®) solutions for the pK–12 education market, today announced the release of version 2.0 of SIFWorks Directory Manager, a robust SIF agent and provisioning application for Microsoft Active Directory. This latest release of SIFWorks Directory Manager automates the creation and management of Home directories, user assignments and Exchange mailboxes in Active Directory using the student and staff records available within a SIF compliant system. As students and staff move in and out of the district or transfer between schools, SIFWorks Directory Manager automatically moves the user accounts in the directory—or inactivates them if necessary—simplifying enrollment changes. SIF–enabled directory management via SIFWorks Directory Manager frees up staff time and insures data accuracy and security across a school district.

First released in 2006, SIFWorks Directory Manager has been designed and enhanced with direct input from customers who requested a non–intrusive, SIF–enabled directory management solution. To that end, SIFWorks Directory Manager automates the process of network provisioning while allowing network administrators to manage their group policies in a manner that best meets the needs of their network. Further, SIFWorks Directory Manager publishes the SIF Authentication object, a feature that facilitates single sign–on to other SIF–enabled solutions. Adding to the ease–of use functionality, the agent ships with a collection of templates for customization of directory structures, an enhanced scripting capability, and a unique expression editor that allows non–programmers to easily customize the behavior of the agent.
