NEW RELEASE OF SIFWORKS® ENTERPRISE ZONE INTEGRATION SERVER (ZIS) IS FIRST TO SUPPORT SCHOOLS INTEROPERABILITY FRAMEWORK (SIF®) 2 SPECIFICATION

Edustructures' market–leading ZIS extends data interoperability capabilities and performance for schools as they Address No Child Left Behind and other accountability reporting requirements

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—June 18, 2007—Edustructures, the leading provider of Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF®) solutions for the pK12 education market, today announced the immediate availability of version 2.0 of SIFWorks® Enterprise Zone Integration Server (ZIS), the company's flagship solution and the central messaging component of a SIF implementation. This latest release of the SIFWorks Enterprise ZIS supports the SIF 2 Implementation Specification—the fourth major release of the education standard for data interoperability—while continuing to support all previous versions of the specification. SIF 2 expands the number of supported SIF objects, providing greater out–of–the–box data interoperability between diverse applications in a school.

A key challenge for educators today—in light of No Child Left Behind and individual state reporting requirements—is the ability to gather accurate student data from various systems and then use that information to optimize education and report achievement. The SIFWorks Enterprise ZIS automates the secure exchange of data between disparate applications within schools, districts, and states, eliminating data isolation and streamlining cross–application reporting. Further, the cross–platform nature of the SIFWorks Enterprise ZIS enables greater choice; schools have successfully deployed the ZIS on operating systems as disparate as Windows, NetWare, Mac OSX, Solaris, and Linux.

“We count on SIF and Edustructures to streamline processes and deliver accurate data that informs our teaching and learning processes,” said Andrea Stetson, systems analyst for the Botetourt County Public Schools in Fincastle, Virginia. “The support of SIF 2 in this latest release of the SIFWorks Enterprise ZIS will allow us to expand our SIF implementation and capture additional, relevant information in order to better serve our students.”

The ZIS 2.0 release follows Edustructures' release of SIFWorks Directory Manager™ 2.0 earlier this month and will be followed by version 2.0 of the SIF Agent for SASI™ which will support version 2 of the SIF standard—including the newest editions of the supported SIF Data Objects—while continuing to support all previous versions of SIF.

“We've promised our customers that they can count on Edustructures to provide the most powerful, reliable and effective SIF solutions, thus we're proud to be the first provider to deliver solutions that support SIF 2,” said Steve Curtis, CEO and president of Edustructures. “As the need for data interoperability and accessibility in education continues to grow, Edustructures will continue to offer the industry's best SIF solutions and support.”
